The Lion Hotel, a 16th-century Grade II listed coaching inn and Shrewsbury, Shropshire hotel, has appointed Noel Hill as its new general manager.
With more than 17 years experience in the hospitality industry, Hill started his career as a pot washer at the age of 14 and has since developed into various independent and boutique hotels.
According to the hotel, he developed a "wealth of experience" between departments, including Operations Manager and Food and Beverage Manager.
Noel said, "I am excited to join the team as General Manager. I am passionate about country house hotels. The Lion Hotel is a fantastic heritage listed hotel with a traditional character in the heart of Shrewsbury.
"It is my intention to rediscover and enhance the true heritage and identity of the hotel and to re-anchor it on the map both on-site and off-site."
